HomeStart Program
Providing families with the items they need to set up their new homes.
WHAT IS IT?
HomeStart is a service to the Moscow/Pullman community that was begun in the mid 1990s by the Presbyterian Women United group (PWU) at First Presbyterian Church here in Moscow, Idaho. The program relocated to Family Promise in early 2022 in hopes of extending its services to a greater population. We serve families who find themselves in unstable situations or starting over, and help to supply them with basic household items.
WHO USES IT?
HomeStart serves graduates of Family Promise of the Palouse as well as community members and clients from various agencies and groups in the area.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
HomeStart collects donations of miscellaneous household items in good working condition and sorts them at our day center (dishes, kitchen wares, small appliances, linens, etc. – see our donation wish list). Individuals and families in need of these things can contact Family Promise to schedule a time to visit the center and pick out items that they may need.
